American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Line of Events
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her unique mind can help solve a crime by rearranging evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department. Despite having a very high IQ, an excellent memory, and a vast knowledge of secrets, Morgan makes a series of basic mistakes that no one who has ever watched a law show on TV would know to make. In the first episode, for example, he retrieves from the locked safe of the suspected victim’s law firm a document that would never be brought to court – evidence that was obtained illegally. Nor can it be used to obtain other evidence – a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine.

In Episode 2, he has to be reminded to wear gloves before touching evidence at the crime scene, and in Episode 3, he takes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making everything he took inadmissible. court. The main character has just that. It seems like his life is a bit of a mess, he’s all over the place, but… he’s incredibly smart and notices details that other experienced people don’t. I was already a fan of Kaitlin so it’s no surprise that I love her here as well.
This will do the trick
I appreciate that each episode solves a case. I don’t like the idea of a show lasting a full season or several. Tell me a solid story that ends in less than an hour! Well balanced, has fun lines and overall just enjoyable to watch.
I’m really looking forward to the next episodes
I just hope they don’t cancel it after one season like everyone does these days. A solid MC you want to root for.
