Perry was so impressed that he even helped develop the remix
Line of Events
In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government operations. In their search for answers, the kids uncover a series of extraordinary mysteries. Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, has said that the remix of Journey’s ’80s hit “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” for the fourth season of Stranger Things was done pretty much exactly how he originally wanted it in the 1980s, but lacked the necessary technology. In several episodes, people are seen “interrupting” someone who is talking on a radio or CB radio – that is, one person is talking/transmitting, another person interrupts them by transmitting, and then the other person hears the interruption and stops transmitting. This happened a few times with the kids’ CB radios and with the police radios.
Eleven: Friends Don’t Lie
These radios – the CB and police radios from the show’s era – do not work like that. If you’re broadcasting and someone else is broadcasting, you won’t hear them. The opening credits and font of Stranger Things mimic the film grain and look of the opening credits of a 1980s TV show. feel, this series is sure to impress
With its gorgeous ’80s vibe and creepy X-Files meets E.T. Within the first 8 minutes, I knew I’d found something special in Stranger Things. The intriguing story imparts information at a great pace and at no point did I feel confused or bored, and there were enough twists and turns to keep my interest. There were some pretty great horror sequences too and the use of flickering lights, which is a common stylistic device, suited the story so well that I was on the edge of my seat every time the crackle of electricity shot out of my speakers and the lights flickered. The show’s characters are the real stars here, I liked every single one of them.
Gosh, I loved their choice of music
They were all great with amazingly interesting flaws and it was fun to see them mix and clash with each other. They certainly help carry this show, although I would say the show’s anti-government characters seemed a little flat and underdeveloped and weren’t nearly as memorable. The production values are pretty good too with some nice camera angles, editing, lighting and sound. I would say the CGI looks a little obvious and from time to time I did notice some issues where scenes weren’t quite up to scratch. However, I think I’ve been spoiled in terms of visual quality since Game of Thrones, so I’ll take this criticism with a grain of salt as it certainly didn’t detract from the overall experience.
Unforgettable, suspenseful, dark and haunting, Netflix beats Stranger Things by a long shot with a score of 10/10
Also, the setting and style of everything on location was great to look at and felt real and interesting. Also, the way everything was filmed captures every moment skillfully and really helps to flesh out those story moments with more emotion. Stranger Things is one of those special shows that I stumbled upon and after the beginning I knew I was hooked. The suspenseful, dark story is skillfully woven into the 8 episodes and I know I’ll be back to watch it again. The ending is quite well wrapped up with a few loose plot threads left open and the promise of possible follow-up seasons, but the story is wrapped up quite satisfactorily at the end.
